In CS2, each weapon skin has a unique wear level that shows how scratched or worn it is in the game. This wear level is represented by a float value, where higher values mean worse conditions.
There are five skin conditions in total, and they come with different prices on the Steam Marketplace. Here are the five conditions, ranked from best to worst:
Factory new is the best CS2 skin condition, with float values between 0.00 and 0.07.
These skins have hardly any scratches but are usually the priciest.
Minimal wear is the second-best CS2 skin condition, with float values between 0.07 and 0.15.
Skins with a good float value can look almost as good as factory new ones. Always inspect and check the float value in-game before buying.
Field-tested skins range from 0.15 to 0.38 in float value.
They’re a wallet-friendly choice compared to minimal wear and factory new skins, perfect for budget shoppers.
Well-worn is the second-lowest CS2 skin condition, with float values from 0.38 to 0.45.
They’re cheaper than minimal wear and factory new skins, making them a smart choice for budget-conscious shoppers.
Battle-scarred is the lowest CS2 skin condition, with float values from 0.45 to 1.00.
These skins have missing sections and faded colors.
Factory new skins are the best, but pricier. Always check the float value and inspect it in-game before buying, even for low-tier conditions. You might find one with fewer scratches than expected.
