When you think of it, Counter-Strike 2 is a lot like a relationship — everything falls apart without proper communication skills. No, you’re not supposed to tell your duo queue partner what time you go to bed, but you definitely are supposed to tell them the exact locations on the map without having to guess.
Team coordination in CS2 revolves around proper communication, not just from the in-game leader, but from every single member on the squad. Learning map callouts and giving detailed advice, whether about one enemy or the entire team’s strategy, makes all the difference.
CS2 is complicated in a way that no two maps are the same. Well, apart from pretty much every single one having an A and B site. But still, communicating in CS2 at its most basic level is knowing map callouts so that, at the very least, you can inform your teammates where you died from or where you were shot from.

Clear communication may be difficult through text chat only, which is why there is in-game voice chat for everyone on the team. Part of the communication experience in CS2 is also being able to understand relevant information even in high-pressure situations. It’s not enough that you’re able to display good communication from your end, but you should also make use of the callouts your teammates give you as well.
First and foremost would be to avoid unnecessary chatter. This is part of the gameplay, so ultimately, it’s fine to just talk every now and then, but when the situation calls for a bit more focus, avoid distracting teammates completely.

Next would be to have a solid understanding of the callouts on the maps you usually play, if not every map in the game. “Over there” and “next to you” won’t cut it anymore, especially in higher levels of play. Lastly, always keep your senses aware of enemy positions. Communicating only upon death is the bare minimum. Offering possible predictions as to the opposing team’s strategy before the next round starts will go a long way.
