Rust recently introduced a new RPG Launcher DLC with November’s Pivot or Die update. The new DLC adds a unique skin for Rust’s rocket launcher, full of unique animations, sounds, and even skinned rocket ammunition. Follow along as we cover Rust’s new RPG Launcher DLC.
The new RPG Launcher skin model is based on the RPG-7, invented by the Soviet Union. The launcher features wooden grips and a worn wooden heat shield, paired alongside a long metal base. The launcher is smaller in size compared to Rust’s default Rocket Launcher, taking up much less screen space when being used.

A major feature of Rust’s new RPG launcher is its unique ADS animation. Unlike the default launcher and other weapons, which provide iron sights when aiming down sights, the RPG launcher instead tightens your spread, slightly zooms, and allows you to use a crosshair instead of any sort of iron sight. The feature is comparable to the ADS zoom found on weapons like the SG-552 from older Counter-Strike games.

Rust’s RPG Launcher DLC also adds new rocket ammunition skins. The new feature has caused confusion amongst many players, as you cannot actually skin individual rockets. Instead, once loaded, the rocket will have a unique appearance visible while loaded and fired. There are several variations of rocket ammunition, each having different colors and amounts of wear.

That covers the entirety of Rust’s RPG Launcher DLC. The newly added DLC can be purchased in-game or on Steam from the General Rust Item Store for $6.99. If you enjoyed this article, feel free to check out our Rust Crosshair Guide which is useful for using the new launcher skin. See you next time!
