With Rust’s new Pivot or Die update, horses received an updated feature allowing them to be healed using Rust’s medical syringes. The update aims to provide a buff to the primitive transportation method, making it more useful in the later game. Follow along as we guide you on how to use the new Rust Horse Healing feature.
Check out the rest of the Pivot or Die update in our update guide:
To heal horses in Rust, the first thing you are required to have is a Medical Syringe. The syringe is the staple of healing inside of Rust. It can be crafted in Level 2 Workbenches for 15 Cloth, 10 Metal Fragments, and 10 Low Grade Fuel. Once you have obtained a Medical Syringe, simply walk up to a horse, or look down at it while riding, and right-click to inject the horse with the syringe.

Once injected, the horse will be granted 60 health, allowing it to tank a few extra shots before dying. Along with the health benefits, syringed horses will also receive a bit of stamina and a significant speed boost. The four-second 12.6km/h speed boost is perfect for escaping sticky situations or for avoiding any enemies who may be hunting you.

With that, you now know everything you need to know about Rust’s new Horse Healing feature. Hopefully, players are able to find more use out of the steeds with the new health, stamina, and speed benefits.
