Hazmat Skins in Rust
One of Rust’s most famous features is the Hazmat Suit. The Hazmat Suit Rust owes a huge part of its image. When you search Rust, it is most likely the Hazmat that appears first. With the iconic look of these skins, the real question is how relevant it is in the game.
What is the Hazmat Suit?
The Hazmat Suit is a clothing item within Rust that offers high amounts of protection from other players. Rust has many clothing items, all of which benefit the player through a varied amount of buffs and protection statistics. Hazmat Suits can be crafted through the use of 5 tarps, two sewing kits, and eight high-quality metals, or Hazmat Suits can be found in crates of various types. Only five skins exist for the Hazmat Suit, so let’s take a look into each of Rust’s hazmat suit skins:
- Artic Hazmat Suit
- Nomad Suit
- Lumberjack Suit
- Abyss Hazmat Suit
- Space Suit
The Arctic Hazmat Suit
The Arctic Hazmat Suit is arguably the most controversial clothing item in Rust. Upon addition of this skin, it was realized to be one of the only pieces of clothing with Rust to have its stats changed from the base skin. In contrast to the base Hazmat Suit, the Arctic Hazmat Suit was given an insane cold buff along with some decreases in Radiation protection, explosive protection, and bite protection. This skin sparked quite an outrage within the community as many players argued that giving individuals with skin advantages over others was unjust. Arguments and outrage as a result of this skin weren’t all too unfair, as this skin provides an extreme advantage to the base Hazmat Suit, allowing the wearer to roam in the Arctic or winter biome for as long as they want! Without a doubt, this skin is almost a must-have if you plan to be playing Rust a lot. The abundance of cold protection, along with the same projectile and melee stats of the Hazmat Suit, makes this hazmat skin the king of clothing skins.
Nomad Suit
The Nomad suit was the first of the Hazmat skins to be added to the in-game Rust General store. Though this skin doesn’t offer any fancy stats or secret buffs, some argued that it was too camouflaged in the desert and dark areas. This skin perfectly fits the survival look that Rust is chasing, with the suit giving off a nuclear soldier look. The Hazmat Suit is a one-piece clothing set, meaning nothing else (excluding a backpack) can be worn along with it, which makes this skin so amazing cause it is head-to-toe amazing!
Lumberjack Suit
The Lumberjack suit is part of a set that includes skins for both the stone pickaxe, stone axe, metal pickaxe, and metal axe. This skin will surely make you look like the ultimate wasteland warrior. Roaming the server with this skin will give lethal levels of style. The Lumberjack Suit perfectly fits so many environments. Blending in quite well within forests, this piece of equipment is worth the change!
Abyss Hazmat Suit
This skin, similarly to other skins on this list, is part of a pack containing a couple of skins. When purchasing the Abyss pack, you will receive not only the Hazmat Suit but also an assault rifle skin, hatchet skin, Picaxe skin, and torch skin. This Hazmat skin fits the ocean aesthetic so well. If you’re looking to escape into the depths of Rust’s deep oceans, this hazmat skin is perfect for you. Another bonus of buying this pack is the fact that the torch skin that accompanies this skin, unlike all other torches, can be lit underwater!
The Space Suit
Surprisingly, this skin is the first ever hazmat skin! For years, the Space Suit was the only hazmat skin available! Though it was the first, it does not mean it’s the worst by any means! Without a doubt, this is one of the best skins within Rust. This skin, unlike all the others on this list, is selling on the Steam marketplace or other such marketplaces instead of Rust’s permanent item shop! Not only is this skin tradeable and marketable, unlike every other Hazmat skin, but on average, this Hazmat only sells for around $10, making it much cheaper than its counterparts!
