After quite some time with minimal changes to Counter-Strike 2, Valve finally implemented a new gameplay-focused update entitled “Mission Possible”. Though not as huge as a new Operation or a pre-Major update for the upcoming BLAST.tv Austin Major is still a welcome change for many who want new content beyond cosmetics. Well-known and loved CS2 personality James Banks even described it as a step in the right direction for the more casual crowd of the first-person shooter.
Weekly Missions
Valve introduced a new way for players to earn experience through weekly missions. This may not be a new concept in gaming, but it is being seen for the first time in the CS franchise outside of Operation missions. These are entirely optional and reset weekly, giving bonus XP after completion.

New Maps
Valve has added five new community maps to multiple game modes: Wingman, Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch. These new battlefields were all accepted into the game as creations by the talented members of the community, with Jura, Grail, and Agency added to Competitive Casual and Deathmatch. At the same time, Dogtown and Brewery are Wingman mode exclusives. Grail, in particular, has been getting the most play and attention of the selections in the Community Map group for its unique design and bugs that lead to humorous possibilities during gameplay.
