The AWP is one of two weapons in CS2, along with the AK-47, that’s synonymous with the franchise. It’s one of the strongest weapons in the entire game and just so happens to have some of the very best skins ever released.
If you’re willing to spend top dollar to ensure you have the most elite CS2 inventory, we’ve compiled a list of CS2’s most expensive AWP skins. These rare and highly sought-after skins are guaranteed to turn heads and impress your teammates in-game, and shock anyone who opens up your inventory. But be warned: with their hefty price tags, these skins are only meant for those who don’t mind spending thousands of dollars on a virtual item. In fact, some of these skins are the most expensive video game skins in existence, but remember: you can always sell the skin (unlike many other games), meaning you aren’t losing money, you are making an investment.

Added to the game prior to the release of CS2, the AWP | Desert Hydra was included as the Covert skin in the 2021 Mirage Collection, which was the second. This skin can only be obtained by opening Mirage Souvenir packages or by fulfilling trade-up contracts using other Classified skins from the 2021 Mirage Collection. If you do manage to unbox or trade up to the skin, you will be looking at up to $1,600!

The Prince is the highest-tier skin in the Canals Collection and is often considered the lesser counterpart to the AWP | Gungnir, which also released during Operation Riptide. It has a regal and noble appearance, with a bright red background and extensive use of gold. The engraving on its side reads, “Peace be will thee.” Its design gives off a luxurious and prestigious vibe, and while the skin may have fallen into the shadows of the Gungnir in recent years, it is still deserving of a spot on this list.

As the highest-tier skin in the discontinued Gods and Monsters Collection, the AWP | Medusa is a highly sought-after item. Its unique design, inspired by the iconic Gorgon of Greek mythology, sets it apart from other skins in the game. Though some players argue that the skin isn’t deserving of its price tag, its unique design, mythological background, and high tier status has driven the price of the skin to $4,400 in Factory New condition.

The Dragon Lore is often the first skin that comes to mind when players think about expensive skins in CS2. It is considered an icon of the game’s skin economy and is the second-most expensive AWP skin. Its rarity and high demand has propelled its price to unfathomable highs, but a recent update has made the Souvenir Dragon Lore crash in market value by around $500,000. Due to the update, the Dragon Lore is no longer the most valuable actively traded CS2 skin you can buy and is now only #2 on this list.

Operation Riptide introduced three new collections of skins, and the Norse Collection has ascended to be the most elite of those collections. Its Covert skin, the iconic AWP | Gungnir, is highly coveted and is currently more expensive than the Dragon Lore on average, even in Factory New condition and its Souvenir variant. Due to its rarity and high demand, the Gungnir takes the number one spot on our list of the most expensive AWP skins.
