The Jungle Biome

Rust New Jungle Biome

Venture into a new era of Rust’s world in the Jungle Update with the introduction of its first-ever new biome since the game’s original release. The jungle stretches across the temperate area and low-tier of the map, meaning players will experience the various dangers of the biome the moment they spawn. The vast biome is full of new, lush foliage and plants, and new types of trees, some of which you can even swing across.

Vine Swinging

Rust Vine Swinging

Opt for a faster way to travel, and swing over the jungle floor with the new jungle vines. The vines can be accessed at the top of specific trees, which the player is able to climb. Just look for the purple flowers blooming across the tree, meaning a platform of vines will be waiting for you at the top.

New Monuments

New Jungle Monuments Rust

Two new monuments were added in this Rust update: the massive jungle remnants and the much smaller yet plentiful jungle ruins. The jungle remnants consist of a large stone ziggurat that has been barricaded and is full of treasures from a long-lost civilization. The jungle ruins are small monuments that spread across the biome. They are full of low-tier loot and hidden surprises.

New Wild Animals

New Rust Animals

Life has been added to the jungle in the form of four new not-so-friendly predators, including tigers, panthers, crocodiles, and snakes.

Tigers And Panthers

Tiger and Panther In Rust

The tiger and panther are the most dangerous of the bunch, silently lurking in bushes and stalking players until they find the perfect moment to pounce and kill.

The Crocodile

Rust Crocodile

The crocodile lurks in the new large rivers that run through the massive biome. Its extremely high HP and quick movement speed in water can make it a danger when venturing through the jungle. Attempt to create distance by forcing it to travel on land.

The Snake

Snakes In Rust

Finally, the snake is the smallest of the animals you’ll find in the new Rust Jungle Update, but not the tamest. Don’t forget to watch your feet, as if you approach one, they will bite you and apply a slow-acting snake venom.

The Boomerang

Rust Boomerang Weapon

The Boomerang is a new tier 1 weapon that travels in a fixed arc and returns to the player when thrown. Practice your throws and master hitting your targets, or get primitive and use it as a melee weapon.

The Blowpipe

Rust Blowpipe Weapon

The other new weapon added by the Rust Jungle Update is the blowpipe. It is also a tier 1 weapon that is silent and deadly with its sneaky darts. Four darts, including a wood dart, scatter dart, incapacitation dart, and radiation dart, can be loaded into the pipe.
