It’s the first Thursday of the month, and Rust has once again updated with a much lighter patch after last month’s major Hardcore update. This month’s Rust update adds a brand new decor DLC along with tons of small quality of life changes to keep Rust players satisfied while the developers work towards a much larger upcoming naval update.
The new Exhibit Decor Pack DLC added by this month’s Rust update features 15 new customizable deployables you can decorate your base with to make it feel like home. Tons of new light sources were added with the DLC, including fairy lights, bulb string lights, a chandelier, spotlights, strip lights, and table lamps. New ways to store items were added, including mannequins and wall cabinets. Even small decorations, such as wallpapers and bean bag chairs, make their way into this plentiful DLC pack. The DLC can be purchased from the Rust item store for $12.99

The distance gunshots travel has been raised this Rust update, allowing them to be heard from much further away. The old limit of 350 meters was removed entirely and replaced by a new system, which assigns each weapon its own distance. Pistols, DMRs, SMGs, and Shotguns can now be heard up to 400 meters, while AKs and LRs can be heard up to 500. Furthermore, LMGs, Miniguns, and Long Distance Rifles such as the L96 and Bolt-action can be heard all the way up to 600 meters out.

The bags of fellow teammates have now received labels, so you can now tell which bag belongs to whom. With the new system, as long as you have building privilege and are holding a hammer, you will be able to view who the owner of a bag is by looking at it. This removes the pain of constantly having to go through and rename bags entirely.

The Rust Minicopter has been updated to receive brand new visual and audio damage indicators when hitting certain health thresholds to put it in line with the other helicopters. Players can now easily tell when a Minicopter has reached 45% and 20% health by the specific visual and audio cues such as plumes of smoke and explosions.

Tons of quality-of-life changes also made their way into this Rust update to further improve and simplify the experience.
The Rust Kingdoms 3 Twitch Drop event is starting later this month and running all the way from September 20th to September 30th. We will update all of you with more info once more about the drops is announced.

That’s everything added in this month’s Rust Maintenance Update. Settle in for a short wait while the developers prepare Rust’s game-changing Naval Update coming in November.
