Rust Lunar New Year 2026 DLC Overview

Rust’s Lunar New Year event has officially kicked off with three Lunar New Year-themed DLCs being added to Rust’s item store. The DLCs include a range of horse-themed skins matching the Year of the Horse theme. Follow along as we cover each of the Lunar New Year DLCs added with Rust’s 2026 event.

Silly Horse Mask DLC

The first DLC added with the Lunar New Year event is Rust’s Silly Horse Mask DLC. The DLC adds a single item in the form of horse mask headwear. The horse mask is craftable for 10 cloth and features 20% projectile protection, making it a solid budget headwear option. The mask comes in three variants, including black and brown horse variants as well as a unicorn option. The DLC can be purchased for $3.99.

Ornate Horse Mask DLC

Rust’s Lunar Ornate Horse Mask DLC offers a more defensive alternative to the Silly Horse Mask DLC. The DLC comes with a horse mask skin for the Wolf Headdress, offering a solid 30% projectile protection. The ornate mask features Lunar New Year designs, including large golden waves and swirling clouds, all warping around the masterfully crafted mask. The DLC can be purchased for $5.49.

Lunar New Year Horse Armor DLC

The final DLC added as a part of Rust’s Lunar New Year event is the Lunar New Year Horse Armor DLC. This Rust DLC includes the first-ever skin for Rust’s horse armor, skinning the high-tier Roadsign Horse Armor. The horse is equipped with thick silver and red armor plates mimicking the look of an ancient Chinese soldier. Red and gold tassels hang from the horse’s armor plates while an embroidered gold and black cloth rests underneath. The DLC can be purchased for $5.49.
