Rust Item Store: Rust Skins Weekly Rotation Review (03/13)

It’s Thursday, meaning the Rust item store has once again rotated, bringing 10 new skins to the game, including plenty of clothing, weapons, and deployables. A few collections are seeing continuations while other new ones are being introduced to the game for players to collect. Here is our list of every item added by this week’s Rust item store.

This Week’s Rust Item Store

Arctic Backpack

The first skin added by this week’s Rust item store is the Arctic Backpack. The skin is special in that it was specifically designed to click with the Arctic Hazmat Suit. The suit usually has a backpack of its own, however, it is automatically removed when equipping a large backpack. The Arctic Backpack acts to stop this by recoloring the original backpack to match the style of the hazmat suit. The bag is quite a simple skin being a mixture of black and blue with a white peak logo present on the back.

Commando MP5

The Commando MP5 is a more militarized version of the classic SMG. The weapon skin added to this week’s Rust item store is made entirely of carbon fiber, giving it a nice sheen that lights up the whole gun. It is built using a clear polymer mag, furthering its minimalistic design, which is topped off by the cutout red iron sight, improving visibility at all ranges. Whether you’re looking for an advantage with its iron sights or just like the way it looks, the Commando MP5 is by far an amazing MP5 skin.

Blackstone Door

The next skin added to this week’s Rust item store is the Blackstone Door. The skin uses a black, dark, rocky base with thick, three-dimensional obsidian rocks covering the door. The base of the door is covered in cracks, while the shiny rocks are almost entirely smooth, creating an extreme contrast that gives it a very unique look that is deserving of making it into the game.

Bee Rock

Another cute rock skin has entered the Rust item store in the form of the Bee Rock. This buzzing skin is striped yellow and black, recreating the look of a bee. Two black beady eyes rest on the front of the rock while two bright pink cheeks sit right below them, right in between the bee’s beautiful smile. You may miss the white sparkles which can be found all around the rock acting as small pieces of pollen that have managed to stick themselves to this adorable rock skin.

The Fallen Gloves

The Fallen Collection once again sees another continuation with this Rust item store in the form of a new pair of Roadsign Gloves. The Fallen Gloves continue the classic look of the set with its congealed blood-red base topped with bones that connect together, forming a human skeleton. Further bones cover the creepy skin, such as the skull, which guards the hand, and small bones, which guard each finger.

Elysium LR300

The Elysium LR300 is the definition of luxury with its black and gold design. A golden rim wraps around the entirety of the black base of the LR, while golden triangles stretch across the middle of the skin, each with a smaller yellow triangle painted inside. The cool weapon is topped with sectioned-off gray accents that run along the stock, pistol grip, and handguard, contrasting the rest of the colors and completing the skin.

Sunken Garage Door

The Sunken Garage Door brings a nautical approach to the deployable with its submarine look. The thick door is made of plated gray steel and covered in warning signs and lights. A bright red light glows at the top while two torches sit on either side of the skin being held by massive purple tentacles which reign chaos all over the door. Barnacles latch themselves to the bottom of the garage door, resulting in it looking worn and dirtied and completing the skin as a whole

Harbor Seal Large Box

The Harbor Seal Large Box is another animal-themed skin being added to this Rust item store. This time, the skin takes on the appearance of a loving gray and white seal. The back of the box and the top of the seal are covered in dark spots while its clear white underbelly rests under its large adorable eyes and smile. Its pointy white whiskers add an extra layer of depth, while its bright red tongue gives the box the pop of color it needs. Overall, the Harbor Seal Large Box is an incredibly charming large box skin perfect for animal lovers.

Ice Eye SAR

The Ice Eye SAR freezes over the entire weapon covering it in a thick blue cracked ice design. Its cool blue color pairs perfectly with the cloudy eyes that sit on the skin. The first eye is centered on the SAR, while the other sits on the back of the stockless weapon. Chains connect around the back of the gun while scaley leather finds its way around the pistol grip of this legendary SAR.

Mini Beehive Box

The final skin added to this week’s Rust item store is the Mini Beehive Box. The box uses textures from the new beehive added by the most recent Rust update having a mostly wooden design with many drawers and walls made out of flimsy planks. A piece of sheet metal acts as the lid of the box, while further sheets help reinforce the crafty skin’s fragile walls.
