Rust Item Store: Rust Skins Weekly Rotation Review (01/30)

Welcome to this week’s Rust item store, which marks the second iteration of the Lunar New Year’s 2025 skins. This week’s shop adds 11 brand-new Lunar New Year skins while keeping the generic event items added by last week’s shop. Without further ado, let’s get straight into this review.

Serpent Lightkeeper Wooden Door

First up on in the Rust item store is the Serpent Lightkeeper Wooden Door. The black door has a majestic red orb that radiates with glowing energy. A long white snake wraps around the orb, swerving to avoid the long rays of energy. The snake has matching red glowing eyes, adding a nice finishing touch to this amazing skin.

Dragon’s Fury Hoodie And Pants

The Dragon’s Fury Hoodie And Pants are a two-piece red and gold collection added to this week’s Rust item store. The hoodie has a red patterned base with a massive golden dragon design taking over the majority of the front. Two gold ropes run down each sleeve, which pairs perfectly with the red base and other gold accents. The pants aren’t much different, with the top being the same patterned red-rimmed with gold tassels. The rest of the pants are a flat red with five gold stripes running in a pattern horizontally around the legs.

Lunar Snake Kaleidoscope AR

The Lunar Snake Kaleidoscope AR is a hand-drawn masterpiece. A green snake made out of meticulously drawn lines to make it resemble that of stained glass sits centered on the AR. Red shards of the same texture run across the weapon, behind the snake, and overtop the black and green base, which, when paired with the red magazine cover, golden accents, and patterned stock, come together to create one of Rust’s most detailed AR skins.

Lunar Snake Furnace

The Lunar Snake Furnace added to the Rust item store, is made of a ruby-red stone that glistens in the light. A large golden snake coils around the furnace, stopping right above the mouth of the forge. Its deep glowing green eyes stare eerily into the distance while its tongue sticks out hissing. Small coins decorate the sides of the furnace as a neat final detail.

Year of the Snake L96

Next on our list, we have the Year of the Snake L96. It uses a red base with green accents paired with a massive golden snake riding down the side of the weapon. Golden clouds, Chinese symbols, and golden patterns spread all across the weapon, adding the details needed to create a beautiful skin.

Lunar Snake Locker

The Lunar Snake Locker is a red and gold locker full of tons of tiny details added to the Rust item store. Paper doors in place of the original locker doors, Chinese lanterns inside of the locker, a small banner on the front, and plenty of other Chinse symbolism help elevate this locker skin to a level of detail that not many others can match.

Lunar Lantern Sleeping Bag

The Lunar Lantern Sleeping Bag added to the Rust item store is a glowing orange skin meant to represent that of a Chinse Lantern. The bag is textured and colored to match the appearance of the iconic lantern with its striped orange glow. The edges of the bag are rimmed in gold with three black Chinese symbols.

Lunar Snake SMG

The Lunar Snake SMG uses a scaled black and golden base and is outlined in red. A green snake runs across the center of the skin, slithering around coins and ribbons. Three Chinese lanterns run down each side of the magazine to top off this cute SMG skin added to the Rust market.

Amulet Rug

The Amulet Rug converts the deployable from a rug into three coins fit together by a small red ribbon. Each coin is inscribed with 4 Chinese symbols, while square holes have been cut out of the middle of each coin for the ribbon to run through. The deployable serves as a great Lunar New Year’s decoration and nice alternative to the default rug.

Lunar Snake Helix Rapier

The Lunar Snake Helix Rapier is the final skin added to this week’s Rust item store. It innovates the salvaged sword model by converting the handle into a golden snake and the blade into its crossed metal tongue. The snake has three green eyes and is covered in rough textured scales. The salvaged sword skin comes at the perfect time with Rust’s “Primitive” update releasing soon, which you can read about here.
