Rust Gesture Pack Overview

The Gesture Pack DLC was added to Rust back in November of 2024, bringing eight new gestures for players to express themselves with. New emotes, ranging from an auditory shush to a game of rock, paper, scissors, allow for unique player experiences and add an unheard-of level of creative expression to the game. Without further ado, let’s cover everything added by Rust’s Gesture Pack.

Rock Paper Scissors

The first gesture added to Rust’s Gesture Pack DLC, and possibly one of the coolest, is the Rock Paper Scissors emote. After using the gesture, the player raises their fist in the air, allowing for other players to interact and begin the Rock Paper Scissors game. Once started, each player will be able to select from either rock, paper, or scissors in a best-of-one battle.

Loser

The Loser gesture is one of the more toxic emotes added by the Rust DLC. The emote allows the player to bully anyone they choose, forming an L-shape formation using their finger and thumb. Be careful where you use this gesture, as you might just wake up the next day raided.

Knuckle Crack

Prepare to handle business using the Knuckle Crack Rust gesture. The gesture is a straightforward knuckle-cracking animation that even makes an audible noise as each knuckle loudly cracks.

No-No

The No-No gesture can be used in several ways, ranging from simply telling a teammate no to emoting on enemies’ dead bodies. The silly emote lifts the player’s index finger upwards as they quickly sway it back and forth, telling others no.

Cut Throat

The Cut Throat gesture is as exactly as it sounds. The player lifts their thumb up to their neck, recreating a knife as they quickly jerk across, pretending to slice their throat. The emote allows you to menacingly communicate to enemies that their lives are next.

Shh

Silence your enemies, or maybe even warn allies with the Shh gesture. This gesture comes in two variants, including a silent and an audible version. The animation itself lifts the player’s finger to their mouth as they make a shushing noise. The gesture is quite ironic, shushing others while being one of the few emotes that make noise.

Watching You

Next up from the Rust Gesture Pack is the Watching You gesture. This serious animation lifts two of the player’s fingers up, pointing them towards their eyes, then outstretches the arm pointing in front of you. The gesture is perfect for letting your next victim know that you have your eyes on them.

Finger Gun

The final emote added by the Rust Gesture Pack is the Finger Gun. In this clever animation, the player sticks out a finger gun using two fingers and a thumb. As the thumb is pressed down and the finger gun is shot, the hand pulls upward, creating fictional recoil.
