Rust Apartment Complex Raiding Guide: How to Raid Rust Apartments

In the recent Common Ground update, the new Apartment Complex was added to Rust, giving players a whole new way to live. The apartments come with plenty of amenities for players to enjoy, along with plenty of storage to store their loot. However, they are not secure from the world of Rust, as these apartments can still be raided. Follow along as we guide you on how you can begin raiding Rust’s new apartments.

Rust Apartment Raiding: How to Scout Enemy Apartments

To begin looking for your target, head to the Apartment Complex where you can scout enemy apartments for loot value. Call the elevator to take the stairs to the basement floor to begin looking for the complex’s security guard. The guard will be wearing bandit-camp guard clothing and will be standing outside of a Blue Keycard door. Once you find him, bribe him with 50 Scrap to access a Computer Station for 5 minutes. The computer station will tell you which apartments are occupied along with their perceived value (Low, Medium, or High). Use this as a guide to pick out your raid target and find out their exact room number.

Rust Apartment Raiding: How to Purchase a Master Key

Now that you have decided on a target, return to the basement security guard with a hefty sum of 1,000 Scrap. Talk to the guard to purchase a Master Key, which will allow you to breach a single apartment. By default, only one Master Key is available every 12 hours, and only a single player can claim it; however, this setting is adjustable by server admins and may be different.

Rust Apartment Raiding: How to Breach Enemy Apartments

Once you have obtained your master key, head to the door of the apartment you wish to raid to begin breaching it. Hold the interact key (“E” by default) for 30 seconds on the door to fully breach it. After breaching, you will have access to the apartment and all of its loot for 5 minutes. The inside of the apartment will be a Combat Zone, meaning the resident of the breached apartment will be able to fight back and defend his loot. Quickly loot all the items you wish to take and head back to the apartment safe zone to secure the raid loot.
