The non-Souvenir version of the AWP | Dragon Lore is almost as valuable as the stickered variant. That’s a crazy statement to make, considering just two months ago, it would have been the biggest lie ever. Reality seriously hits you fast, even in the Counter-Strike skin ecosystem, as a Factory New AWP | Dragon Lore is only $600 cheaper than its Souvenir version.

Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web

The first and only knife to sneak onto this list, thanks to a combination of prices dropping massively and other skins not having enough sales to be considered, is the Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web. The skin’s appeal really isn’t that hard to find, as the colors are vibrant and would perfectly complement an all-red layout while also benefiting from the Butterfly Knife’s one-of-a-kind inspection animation. At $11,000, it’s right around Dragon Lore territory.

Why are the Most Expensive CS2 Skins so Pricey?

In a game where you can find relatively good-looking skins on a budget, what makes these skins worth so much more money than the rest? Surely, they can’t look THAT much better, right? Well, in most cases, the price of the skin is less related to the appearance of the skin than to the rarity of the skin. The less skin there is, the more it is worth. Coincidentally, the more the skin is worth, the more “rare-skin collectors” will want it, increasing the demand while the supply rarely changes. In some ways, the skins are a perfect paradox of supply and demand, showing the occasional irony of the CS2 skin economy.
