Floating Cities are a new safe zone found inside Rust’s deep sea, added with the recent Naval update. Inside each Floating City, you can find a farming barge acting as a community farm for all players in the safe zone. The barge can be accessed, allowing you to harvest the crops in exchange for a hefty price of Scrap. Follow along as we teach you everything you need to know about Rust’s farming barge.

The farming barge can be found randomly throughout the floating city, depending on which of the four floating city variants you’re exploring. The entrance to the barge will be marked by a large “FARM” sign hovering above the vendor with luscious plants and vibrant lights decorating the entire farm.

Rust’s farming barge begins growing the moment the deep sea opens, meaning the longer you wait to open it, the more crops you can expect. The farm becomes fully grown around 25 minutes before the deep sea closes; however, other players can harvest it before this period, resetting the progress. You must pay a 150 scrap fee to the farm vendor serving as the exclusive way to access the barge.

The value of Rust’s farming barge depends on how much it has grown and how many players have harvested it before you, making its yield inconsistent. At its peak, the farming barge will yield the following crops:
| Type of Vegetable | Hardsuit Armor |
|---|---|
| Corn | ~145 |
| Potatoes | ~316 |
| Pumpkins | ~73 |
| Wheat | ~23 |

While the farming barge may come with a hefty cost, it can be worth it if harvested at the correct time, providing a vast amount of food for you and your teammates.
