CS2 Map Callouts: Inferno Callouts
Inferno is one of the most recognizable maps in the Counter-Strike franchise, celebrated for its well-crafted design and competitive balance. Though the term “beloved” may be arguable for some, it’s definitely had its fair share of iconic moments throughout history, especially in series-deciding matches at major international events. Set in a scenic Italian village, it is characterized by narrow alleys, sharp corners, and two uniquely structured bomb sites. From the ever-famous “banana” to several spots now named after professional players, Inferno’s popularity has stood the test of time. This guide will help you master Inferno callouts to improve your communication and take one step further towards ranking up in CS2.

All Inferno Map Callouts in CS2
Banana – The long, winding alley you can access coming out of T Spawn and CT Spawn. Also, the most popular and iconic part of Inferno, notably popularized by Adam “friberg” Friberg, who is known as the “King of Banana”. Easily held by CT players at the start of the round due to their positional advantage.

B Site – The Inferno bomb site closest to the CT Spawn, right next to Construction, Speedway, and Banana.

T Spawn – Where the Terrorists on Inferno start each round from.

Mid – Usually where dueling AWPers come to fight at the beginning of each round. Connects the T Spawn to the area near A Site.

Second Mid – The pathway right beside Mid is separated by a few buildings. The view is open to Window and Apartments.

T Ramp – The area that connects T Spawn and Mid and one of two pathways for Terrorists to leave their spawn point from.

Ledge – A small spot on Inferno that provides extra vision towards Top Mid without worrying about teammates blocking the view. Also, the choice of position for T-side AWPers.

Living Room – A spot found going up a set of stairs found after exiting T Ramp.

Balcony – An extra spot on Inferno to stay out of the Living Room, providing a view over the Window, Second Mid, and CT Apartments.

Bridge – The open-air pathway connecting Living Room and T Apartments.

A Short – Often referred to as “right” in-game, this is the path towards A Site, where CT Apartments, Boiler, and Truck are all found on Inferno.

A Long – The alternate pathway towards A Site runs through the left side of the map and passes through Arch and Library.

T Apartments – Also sometimes called “Alt House” or “Second House” depending on who’s playing, the T Apartments are found on the right side of Second Mid.

Second Mid Door – The entrance/exit to T Apps parallel to Second Mid.

Back Alley – The part of T Apps closest to CT Apartments on the farthest side of Second Mid coming from T Spawn.

Underpass – The small sewer-type pathway that quickly crosses from Mid and Second Mid. Sometimes referred to as “Mexico”.

Bench – There is a bench on the part of Mid closer to the entrances to A Site.

Second Mid Stairs – A common boosted spot on Inferno especially for the T side. Grants access to Window.

CT Apartments – The building at the end of Mid/Second Mid and what practically everyone refers to when they call out “Apartments” or “Apps”.

Top Mid – The CT-favored end of Mid that branches out to A Short and A Long.

Pit – A lowered part of A Site covered by rocks that provides both cover and a good view towards the main planting area, CT Apartments, and A Short. Also found directly beside Graveyard.

Boiler – The open doorway that connects Mid/A Short and the stairs leading up in CT Apartments.

Window – Another CT-side AWPer favorite, especially with a good spawn point, found right next to Second Mid Stairs, and provides a wide view mostly of Second Mid and the surrounding areas.

Stairs – Stairs found at the entrance of CT Apartments next to Back Alley.

Close Apartments – Also called “Hallway” which connects the main part of CT Apartments and A Site. One of the most common fighting points in Inferno.

Dosia – One of the most iconic Inferno map callouts of all time. This is the farthest corner of Pit where pro player Dosia threw a HE Grenade near the end of the 11th round of the 2017 PGL Major Krakow Grand Final between Immortals and Gambit.

Despite losing the round as the bomb ultimately went off, this grenade throw damaged steel and LUCAS1 enough to die from a spot that, with full health, would ensure their survival. The play resulted in not just one of the most iconic moments, but most remembered Inferno matches in history.

Cemetery – Refers to an area behind Pit that is easily seen when you exit CT Apartments through Balcony.

Graveyard – The spot on Inferno directly beside Pit, which is usually a common place for the defending team to protect A Site from.

Truck – A truck parked under Balcony, also found on A Short, a common boost spot for anyone to take control of CT Apartments/Balcony quickly.

Patio – The roofed section on A Short where most players hide under, thanks to its dark shadow or boost to get on top of the roof for an off-angle.

Long Corner – A corner that completely hides anyone’s player model from those approaching Top Mid going through either A Short or A Long. Found directly in front of Library.

Library – Is called such thanks to its design in older installments of Counter-Strike—a common pathway to A Site from CT Spawn and vice versa.

Kitchen – Right next to Library, but is found through the door opening closer to CT Spawn.

A Site – The area where the bomb can be planted on Inferno’s A Site.

Close Left – The closest box to A Site when coming from A Short. A common place for the defense to hide behind or boost on top of.

Back Site (A) – The farthest part of A Site coming from A Short.

Arch – Found in the middle of Library and Long Corner. Another typical spot for Counter-Terrorists to enter from when taking or retaking A Site. Just like Library, this is a crucial spot that connects CT Spawn and the part of the map next to Bombsite B with A.

CT Spawn – Where the Counter-Terrorists will always spawn throughout the game.

Speedway – A section of Inferno located near CT Spawn, which allows players to go from Arch to B Site or Construction.

Terrace – Simply a terraced area near CT Spawn with plants found all over.

Well/Truck – As the name suggests, it used to be a well located near CT Spawn along the path before reaching Construction or B Site. The well has since been replaced with a truck, but since there is already a truck on A site, most players still call it well.

CT – Not to be confused with the spot where Counter-Terrorists start each round from, this is a common area for CT players to hold as it gives a favorable angle towards those coming from Banana. More often than not, especially in professional play, control of this area through utility makes all the difference in a game.

Tree – The shadowed corner across from Construction’s exit, closer to CT Spawn.

CT Boost – One of the most used locations in Inferno that gives CT players complete vision of Bombsite B even when utility has been thrown towards CT.

Construction – A building that once had an unusual structure but has since been given new life in Counter-Strike 2.

Sand Bags (Construction) – A stack of sand bags near Construction that is a common spot for defending players.

Garden – A small and grassy, plant-filled area you can see coming out from Construction.

Coffins – A common defending spot for AWPers and riflers alike which gives an advantage against players walking up from Banana.

Grill – Refers to a grill that can be located near B Site.

Dark – The far right corner located on Inferno’s B Site when coming out of Banana or CT Spawn.
Fountain – A water fountain placed right in the middle of B Site. It is able to block bullets and other projectiles.

Quad – A tall set of boxes on B Site also referred to as “New Box”. In some cases, the callout can also be “Stewie” in honor of Stewie2k’s legendary 30th round clutch in the Grand Final of the 2018 ELEAGUE Major Boston.

2nd – A spot behind a stack of boxes that is in between Quad and 1st, while open towards Fountain.

1st – A spot behind two stacks of boxes which is open towards Sand Bags or Coffins.

Boost – An area where players commonly boost on. This refers to the stack of boxes closer to Banana from 1st.

Sand Bags (B) – As the name suggests, they are Sand Bags found in Banana.

Car – In previous versions of Counter-Strike, Inferno used to have a car there. It has since been replaced by boxes and other items that form cover against players approaching from Banana.

Logs – A small hole towards the T Side end of Banana where wooden logs can be found.

Bottom Mid – The direct opposite of Top Mid and the area closest to T Spawn and T Ramp.

Conclusion
In comparison to other maps, Inferno is viewed as one of the hardest in terms of raw skill due to its layout. The amount of sharp corners and difficult angles to clear rewards players with a high level of experience and mechanical ability. As a map that is played regularly even at the pinnacle of competitive CS2, learning all the key Inferno map callouts is an essential part of growing as a player regardless of rank.
