The IEM Cologne Major 2026 field is shaping up to be one of the most talent-filled in a while, and one look at all the teams and players participating really just fuels the hype even more. From multiple-time Major champions to legends in the twilight of their careers, IEM Cologne 2026 will have so many stories to tell.
Of course, the spotlight will be brighter on some individuals compared to others for a variety of reasons. Be it for their consistent performances, career acknowledgment, and everything else in between, these are the players to watch at the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo‘s time as a professional Counter-Strike player is slowly winding down, and every match or event appearance from here on has a certain level of specialness to it. His career accolades have established him as the greatest Brazilian CS player of all time and someone the game will sorely miss once he hangs up the mouse and keyboard.

While FURIA aren’t necessarily favorites to win the whole thing, it must be acknowledged that they are still one of the highest-ranking teams in the entire tournament. Do FalleN and FURIA have one more playoff run at the Cathedral in them?
All three of them take the same spot on the list since they’ll be watched for the exact same reason — they play for Falcons. Having been a team under intense scrutiny for a number of reasons, including always making it past their advancement matches but never truly lifting the big trophies.

Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov couldn’t do it in the past. Now, they have Finn “karrigan” Andersen too. It really goes without saying, but if Falcons were to get eliminated early or even simply have another performance to forget in their first time competing at a Major together, there will be more tough conversations.
Kind of an obvious one, but then again, who wouldn’t be eagerly looking at the #1 player in the whole world? Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has won three Majors and been awarded as the MVP all three times as well, with IEM Cologne 2026 serving as a possible fourth.

Should ZywOo win his fourth Major off a three-peat (and a possible fourth Major MVP medal as well), then the conversation for greatest Counter-Strike player across ANY era might just get its answer.
