Build The Best CS2 Team: Have a Fearless Entry Fragger

Counter-Strike, in a sense, is simply about creating space to secure objectives and positions on the map. But explaining it that way makes the game sound so simple when, in reality, finding winning positions might be the hardest task in a match.

That’s where the Entry Fragger role in a CS2 team comes in. There are usually one or two of these guys on a team, and they typically have the best aim of the group, using rifles or even pistols. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Jake “Stewie2k” Yip are some notable players who have performed well in the Entry Fragger role thanks to their aggressive pushes and otherwise flawless technical ability.

A solid Entry Fragger, especially on T-side attacks or CT-side retakes, will usually dictate how the rest of the round plays out. Getting one or two quick kills on a site’s lone defenders to secure the bomb plant swings the momentum and odds hugely in the attacking side’s favor, while being able to eliminate multiple T-side players in post-plant situations before the rest of your team has to even peek out makes a usually challenging situation a lot more winnable.

Possible Secondary Role: Support

The Support role is usually overshadowed in the game, but there are a lot of times when a round is decided by how well the main stars are backed up. Being the Entry Fragger means that you have a superior knowledge of the location of certain spots, especially bomb sites. Supporters also use this knowledge to their advantage when executing set plays that rely heavily on utility. When it’s not your turn to enter the site first, or when aggression does not seem to be the answer, having the proper utility placement can go a long way toward your team’s overall success.

Entry Fraggers usually make their impact felt early, but what they can accomplish goes a long way in setting the tone for the rest of the round. Having a great Entry Fragger on your CS2 team can put you in a winning situation early, rather than having to play from behind.
