A Bunch of New Community Maps Added in the CS2 New Update

Maps are the foundation of Counter-Strike 2 since, basically, no game can be played without an ideal battleground. But of course, playing the same set of maps over and over through the months or years can get repetitive and dull, which is why Valve occasionally removes some from the game entirely to add their own creations or those from the Steam workshop. In the game’s latest update, this past May 8, 2025, Valve added a bunch of new community maps to make the game more exciting for players and to reward the hard work of several talented CS2 mapmakers.

Five New Maps in the Map Pool

In the Mission Possible update, Valve added community maps Dogtown, Brewery, Jura, Grail, and Agency to various game modes. Dogtown and Brewery are only playable in Wingman mode, while the other three can be played in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch. Each of the five new community maps has a very distinct personality and, in turn, differs greatly from the others.

To make space for these five new battlegrounds, they removed community maps Basalt, Edin, Palais, and Whistle entirely

Jura is the map that resembles the classic Counter-Strike formula the most, taking a lot from fan-favorite Cobblestone with its rocky design. Brewery, as the name suggests, takes place inside of a factory that creates drinks with various designs ranging from wooden barrels to industrial mixers found within.

Dogtown’s environment is that of an abandoned amusement park that even features a Ferris Wheel, Merry-Go-Round, and Arcade building. Agency looks like a modernized version of the longtime CS2 map Office, complete with wide open spaces and tight corners for any kind of battle. Last but definitely not least is Grail, a map that has gained notoriety in the few days it has been released due to its complicated design and game-breaking bugs/exploits. Still, if all publicity is good publicity, then Grail might just end up being the most iconic of this entire community map group.
