Rust Motor Boat Overview

The motor robot is the simplest of Rust’s boats. It can be found washed ashore or purchased from the Fishing Village for 125 Scrap. The wooden boat features a weak 400 HP and can hold up to 4 players. The boat consumes 6 low-grade fuel a minute and features a small storage box, making it great for fuel-efficient ocean adventures.

Rust’s RHIB Overview

The RHIB is a direct upgrade to the simple motor boat, bringing more speed, health, and storage than the regular boat. Similar to the motor boat, it can be found washed up on shores or purchased from the Fishing Village for 300 scrap. The RHIB features a 500 HP health pool and seats up to 6 players. The RHIB even features a frontal bulletproof window, adding an extra layer of defense for the driver. The benefits come at a cost, consuming more fuel than most other boats at a rate of 15 low-grade fuel a minute.

Rust PT Boat Overview

The PT Boat or Scientist boat is the most powerful boat option inside of Rust. The boat doubles the health pool of the RHIB, featuring 1000 HP. The boat also features two powerful turrets located on the front and back, each shooting 5.56 rifle ammo. It can hold 7 people, features a 36 slot storage box, but it does include several drawbacks. The PT boat chugs the most fuel at 18 low-grade fuel a minute, while also travelling slower than the RHIB. The boat can only be found in the deep sea from Scientist patrols and despawns once the deep sea closes.

Rust Kayak Overview

The Kayak is a manually operated primitive boat option in Rust. It can hold up to two players and can easily be broken, with only 200 HP. It is the cheapest option, requiring only cloth, metal fragments, and wood to craft. However, this comes at the cost of being extremely slow, requiring a paddle to operate. The passenger can also help paddle to allow the kayak to reach full speed. It is useful for solo players looking for a budget ship to access the ocean with.
