In this article, we will be covering how you can craft and obtain the necessary fragments for your workbenches.

How to Craft Advanced Blueprint Fragments

If you’re looking to craft a Level 3 Workbench first, you will need to acquire five advanced blueprint fragments. There are multiple ways to obtain advanced blueprint fragments inside of Rust, but the easiest is to use your already existing basic blueprint fragments to craft them. With 20 much more common basic fragments, you can combine them inside your inventory to form a single advanced blueprint fragment.

Where to Find Basic Blueprint Fragments

Basic blueprint fragments can be found in military crates, green and blue puzzle rooms, and even roadside scientists all over Rust. With a wide variety of options, as long as you stay near medium and large monuments, you’ll be bound to come across some. There are also more unique ways to come across simple blueprint fragments. If you metal detect near a roadway, loot a supply drop, or unbury some large underwater crates, you find a couple of fragments on your journey.

Alternatives to Crafting

If you’re in a smaller group, or maybe even a solo player, you may struggle to come across any blueprint fragments at all and will be unable to craft advanced fragments. In this case, your best bet may be to hunt the advanced blueprint fragments directly. To find advanced blueprint fragments, you should begin by searching in red keycard puzzle rooms (including the ones in the Underwater Labs and Oilrigs), where one is always guaranteed to spawn. You can also always count on hackable crates, which are guaranteed to spawn two advanced fragments, while Rust’s Elite crates also have a 10% chance to spawn an advanced fragment.
