Rust Item Store: Rust Skins Weekly Rotation Review (03/06)

With the introduction of the new Crafting Update also comes the rotation of the Rust item store. The new store accepts 14 new skins into Rust ranging from enhanced weapons, to tailored clothing, and even improved deployables. Let’s continue on to the review of this week’s Rust item store.

This Week’s Rust Item Store

Black Ops Revolver

The first skin selected to be added to this Rust item store is the Black Ops Revolver. This sleek revolver uses a black base with a silver metal chassis wrapping over it. The entire revolver is chosen to look minimalistic with many cutouts, black grip tape, and a small red iron sight. The Black Ops Revolver is a welcome skin to the market and a great addition to the revolver’s catalogue.

Neon Honey Box

The Neon Honey Box is the first deployable being added with this Rust item store. This box skin comes along with Rust’s newest “Crafting” update which introduced bees, honey, beehives, and even bee grenades. This white box oozing with yellow neon honey and being swarmed by yellow neon bees is the perfect way to store all your new bee related content.

Frog Fridge

The Frog Fridge transforms the classic Rust fridge into one massive frog. The dark green beast stares menacingly with its two big yellow eyes. It smirks as its tongue droops out of its mouth. The creature’s arms and legs have been scrunched to fit the dimensions of the fridge while two massive wrinkles run down the back of the giant frog. The Frog Fridge is a creative yet haunting skin that finds its way into this week’s Rust item store.

Alistair’s Biscuits Garage Door

The Alistair’s Biscuits Garage Door is the perfect way to give your base a rustic look following the new content added by this month’s Rust update. With Cooking V2 comes the ability to bake bread and pies, which can go perfectly with this red and black classic garage door. The name references the developer Alistair while an edited picture of him can be found on the skin. The dark colors and rustic appearance fit perfectly with the Rust experience, making this beautiful skin a welcome addition to the Rust item store.

Factory New AK

The Factory New AK transports the appearance of CS2’s classic AK-47 into Rust and brings it to life in the form of a well-crafted Assault Rifle skin. The shiny metal skin is truly factory new, being made of completely spotless stainless steel paired with a dark wooden handguard. The Factory New AK is a simple Assault Rifle skin that is perfect for replacing the default.

Ultramarine Roadsign Gloves and Boots

A simple continuation to the Ultramarine collection was added to this Rust item store in the form of Roadsign Gloves and Boots. The pair of accessories follows the same formula as other pieces in the collection made of shards of a non-glowing black and purple rock. The bright purple bits contrast the black to make an appealing two-color clothing set.

The Fallen Hoodie and Pants

The Fallen Hoodie and Pants release to pair with the road sign set, which was introduced last week. Both pieces use a bloody leather base with bones layered over. The bones on the hoodie form a chest and a ribcage while a skull shoots out of each shoulder and another wraps around the bottom of the hoodie acting as a belt. The pants are layered with horizontal bones and use massive skulls as knee guards. Overall, the set gives off a creepy aura that fits in theme with Rust.

Clan Base Door

The Clan Base Door shows the life of a clan inside of Rust with the glowing door showing the insides of a massive Rust base. AFK players, workbenches, boxes, and everything you would expect to be found in a base can be seen on this door. The Clan Base Door is full of detail and based around an extremely creative idea, making it a great skin.

Gold Lord Facemask and Chestplate

A new collection gets introduced to Rust with this item store in the form of the Gold Lord Facemask and Chestplate. Each piece is made entirely of gold and studded with gemstones with a thin layer of chainmail sitting underneath. The facemask is covered in ornate patterns while red, green, and blue gemstones implant themselves all over the mask. The chest is a similar case with patterns running down each shoulder strap and the waist followed by the bright gemstones. The Gold Lord collection serves as a great way to flaunt your wealth during this new wipe of Rust.

Pie Furnace

The Pie Furnace is the perfect addition to go alongside the pies added by this month’s Rust update. The skin converts the entire upper half of the furnace into a delicious looking cherry pie while the latter half has been transformed into an aluminum pie tray holding everything in place. The silly skin is surprisingly detailed with crinkles on the aluminum and a high resolution golden brown pie crust making it worth checking out.

Hyper SAR

Bring your wipe into overdrive with the Hyper SAR. The SAR is made of arrows which run right towards the stock. The arrows move in a red to green gradient while bronze bolts hold everything in place. They even manage to appear 3D through the use of lights and angles by the creator. The weapon’s magazine is transparent as well as its pistol grip which pairs perfectly with its stockless appearance. The Hyper SAR is another great addition to this overall amazing Rust item store.
