Nuke is one of the current Active Duty Maps as of February 2025 and is widely used in both professional and casual play, thanks in part to its status as a classic map from the earlier days of Counter-Strike. It is a highly competitive map with a unique design filled with underground corridors and many different shooting angles. What sets it apart as a truly unique map is the placement of both bomb sites — directly on top of each other. Determining where the bomb is planted is sometimes challenging due to the layout, but it can also be used advantageously to confuse opponents, provided that you don’t end up confusing yourself!

All Nuke Map Callouts in CS2
T Spawn: The designated starting point for the Terrorist side. On Nuke, this is closer to Lobby, T Roof, and Outside.

CT Spawn: The initial location where Counter-Terrorists spawn. Found on the opposite end of the map from T Spawn, the Counter-Terrorist team spawns closer to Hell, Lockers, and Ramp.

Outside: One of the key positions in the map is this open area situated between A Main, Garage, Secret, and Silo.

A Site: The upper bomb site on Nuke, accessed directly through Squeaky, Vent, Main, and Hut. Also completely visible from Heaven.

B Site: Bombsite B can be found directly below A Site and is accessible through Ramp, Vent, and Secret. A direct shot with a powerful weapon like the AWP from the floor of A Site can register as a kill on a player in B Site.

Garage: A large indoor section adjacent to Secret and near the CT Spawn area. A common position for CT snipers to hold against players of the Terrorist team attempting to rush through Outside into Secret.

Ramp: The sloped path and adjoining space leading toward B Site from Hell/Turn Pike and Control.

CT Box: A box positioned by the stairs near CT Spawn, close to the CT starting area.

T Roof: The rooftop above Lobby, accessible via a ladder near T Spawn. This roof provides access to Silo after a couple of jumps. Also just referred to as “Roof”.

Lobby: The indoor space nearest to T Spawn, bordered by Squeaky, Radio/Vending, and Sandbags, leading toward A Site. This is a small room where T-side players commonly rush at the beginning of the round before determining which site to take. May also be called Lobby Room.

Radio: A hallway from the original Nuke map that is found between Lobby and Trophy. Also called Vending nowadays since this portion of the map features some vending machines.

Trophy: The room located in between Control and Radio with lots of trophies on display. Terrorists enter trophy to reach the Ramp area when attempting to take bombsite B.

Control: The section connecting Trophy to the ramp area.

Squeaky: A narrow room next to Lobby that serves as a direct entrance into A Site through a loud, squeaky door.

Vent: Any segment of the ventilation system that connects A Site, Secret, and B Site. The part of Vent located on A Site can be broken.

Hell: Found directly under Heaven with a ladder one can climb to reach Heaven. Right next to Turn Pike/Ramp, Lockers, and CT Spawn.

Heaven: An elevated position overlooking A Site, accessed via the ladder from Hell or staircase from outside. A common spot for CT players to stay in when holding A Site, especially for quick kills early in the round.

Lockers: This callout refers to a literal locker room filled with breakable windows that provide vision over to the Outside area.

Headshot: The back most part of Ramp, sometimes just referred to as “Back Ramp”, where snipers commonly hide and wait for players attempting to reach the lower floor through Bottom Ramp.

Sandbags: This refers to the position between Hut and Lobby.

There used to be actual sandbags located here, but they have been removed ever since the map was updated. One of the callouts in CS2 that refers to something that no longer exists but is still used for familiarity purposes.

Hut: A metal structure on A Site that connects to Lobby and leads directly out to the planting area of A Site.

Tetris: Some stacked boxes in front of Hut. Called Tetris due to their shape resembling blocks from the popular video game.

Mustang: The raised narrow platform above Hut’s entrance to A Site, near the Rafters.

Rafters: An elevated structure spanning the back wall of A Site which links to Heaven and Mustang. This is a common hiding spot for CTs as it provides them an off-angle against those entering bombsite A.

Bridge: The connecting platform between Mustang and Rafters that simply acts like a bridge.

Turn Pike: The section between Hell and Ramp. Usually still just referred to as Ramp to give fast and clear communication in-game.

Stack: A group of boxes positioned in the corner of Ramp nearest to Turn Pike. A common hiding spot that pays off when unchecked.

Boost: A collection of crates near the Ramp entrance from Control, commonly used for elevation plays. As the name suggests, you can boost up here for a superior angle.

Big Box: The large box above Ramp leading to B Site. Found close to Control.

T Red: The red shipping container in Outside closer to T Spawn, positioned near Silo. Despite there being two “Red” callouts in Nuke, this is what is usually referred to as “Red”.

CT Red: CT Red refers to the red shipping container situated closer to Garage and CT Spawn.

Main: The passageway linking A Site to Outside. Also called A Main or Mini sometimes.

Window: A room featuring a large, breakable window that provides a great view of B Site. Depending on who you’re playing with, this is also sometimes referred to as Control Room.

Dark: A shadowed corner on B Site, positioned near the stairs. Despite being a dead end with only one way in or out, it serves as a great hiding spot especially in clutch situations.

Decon: A room with a single doorway that connects B Site to Back Vents and Tunnels. Also called Single since there is only one door.

Back Vents: The section coming out of Vents that leads into Decon/Single.

Tunnels: The underground tunnels near B Site, excluding areas explicitly covered by Secret, Back Vents, or Window.

Doors: The set of doors leading from Window or Tunnels to access Bombsite B. Also called Double since there are two doors present.

Bottom Ramp: The lower section of the Ramp area that leads into B Site.

Silo: A large, climbable or boostable structure in Outside, accessible from T Roof.

Secret: A stairwell beside Garage leading from Outside down to Tunnels.

Conclusion
For a map that is pretty much as old as the franchise, Nuke still poses a challenge due to its layout and number of unique map callouts. Though not as commonly queued as Mirage or Dust 2 in online matchmaking, Nuke is a beloved battleground especially by the more veteran players. There is always a good chance of Nuke showing up in matches, especially in the higher ranks, which makes learning all its callouts important to improve both as an individual and as a team player.
