Counter-Strike 2 is a game that relies a whole lot on mechanics which, while not the only aspect of the experience worth improving on, will pretty much bail you out when everything else can’t. Crosshair placement in CS2 is vital at every single level of the game, be it from lower sub-5000 ratings in Premier mode or for professional play.
It’s a lot simpler said than done, but just aiming at the right place at the right time will almost always swing any potential firefight in your favor. Adding crosshair placement to your skills practice in CS, or any FPS game for that matter, will directly translate to more kills and more wins.
The name really gives it away, it’s pretty much where you’re aiming while playing the game. Your aim is determined by the marker in the middle of the screen, referred to as the crosshair, whose placement changes depending on your settings and movement throughout any map. Crosshair placement is something that everyone is aware of, but a lot of players still struggle with. Finding the right spot to place your crosshair at any given point during the course of a game will result in way better rounds for both yourself as an individual player and the team overall.

Nothing beats consistent gameplay when it comes to improving crosshair placement. Figuring out how the enemy (or even teammate) player model appears in different areas of the map will give you a solid general idea of where to aim. Having the advantage of already looking at the right place against someone with below par crosshair placement can even result in a free kill at times.

In addition, practice servers or aim trainers that have built-in crosshair placement tools will be helpful in developing your overall aim and ramp up progression especially for newer players.
