Rust Arctic Pack DLC Overview
The Rust Arctic Pack DLC was added to the game back in February of 2022. It added three new items, including an Arctic Hazmat Replacement Skin, Ice AK skin, and a snowmobile skin. It was one of the first DLCs introduced to the Rust permanent store and began to serve as an example of what to expect from the Rust developers when it comes to paid content. The Rust Arctic Pack is an overall content-packed DLC, all of which we will cover in today’s article.

Arctic Hazmat

The Arctic Hazmat is the main piece of the Rust Arctic pack. It is by far one of the most pay-to-win items introduced into the game, as it has different stats than the original hazmat suit. The Arctic Hazmat blocks cold with its +33% cold protection, while the normal hazmat only has a measly +8% cold protection. Players living in the snow can easily change their skin using a repair bench and be immune to the ice-cold snow, giving them a massive advantage over the normal player.
The skin itself, however, is quite well designed, with the tarp material being replaced with a massive blue snow coat, thick black pants, ski goggles, and a massive respirator. The Arctic Hazmat is extremely detailed, even including a hiking backpack fit with a paracord, sleeping bag, and other neat details. The Arctic Hazmat is by far one of the best skin designed by Facepunch and is definitely worth using outside of its pay-to-win potential.
Ice AK

The Ice AK is the second skin introduced by Rust’s Arctic pack. While the skin itself received mixed reviews just being a completely frozen AK dripping with icicles, it did innovate in the skin space by having an actual ice effect hover around the gun whenever you held it out. The simple skin was originally bugged on release, coming with extra ammo every time you skinned it in the repair bench, allowing you to get effectively infinite ammo.
Tomaha Snowmobile

The final skin added by the Rust Arctic Pack is the Tomaha Snowmobile. This is actually the only vehicle skin inside of the game and can be applied to the Snowmobile using the Spray Can. The skin completely converts the Snowmobile from its red and white chunky look to a sleek black and yellow Tomaha Snowmobile. It features an orange box on the back, red text on the side, and a small window on the front. While it isn’t the most useful skin, it is a neat finishing touch to an amazing DLC pack.
That’s all for the Rust Arctic Pack. If you would like to pick up the DLC for yourself, you can grab it from the Rust store here or purchase it in-game.
