Rust Power Plant: How to Activate The Power Grid

Rust’s Power Trip update introduced new player-maintained monuments to spice up the game’s older monuments. The monuments function through the power grid, a new system consisting of four phases that must be activated at the Power Plant. In this blog, we will explain the new power grid system as well as exactly how to activate it.

Where to Find Heavy Fuses in Rust

The first thing you’ll need to activate Rust’s power grid is heavy fuses. The new item can be found mostly in military crates and occasionally inside your standard brown crate. More fuses will be needed depending on which power phase you are trying to reach.

Where to Find The Rust Heavy Fuse Boxes

To find the heavy fuse box, begin by heading to the Power Plant. Make sure you bring a Green Keycard as you will need to access the puzzle room. Once inside the puzzle room, the main fuse box can be found on the first floor, able to hold 15 heavy fuses. Head upstairs to find a smaller box able to hold 5 heavy fuses.

Once you’ve entered the green keycard puzzle room. Fill the heavy fuse box with up to 15 heavy fuses to activate the power phases. A series of 4 green lights sits on top of the fuse box, indicating which power phase is currently active. Each fuse lasts 9,600 seconds and cannot be removed once inserted into the fuse box. With each power phase more monuments will receive power and roadside transformers will output more power.
