Argentina is best known all across the world for its football (soccer). From the time of the legendary Diego Maradona to the sport’s modern-day GOAT in Lionel Messi, there’s really nothing else you’d think of apart from their love for the beautiful game.
In 2027, Argentina will welcome another equally beautiful game to its home soil for the first time as the city of Buenos Aires is set to host a Counter-Strike Major.
Argentina-based tournament organizer FiReSPORTS will be the one hosting South America’s second Major from May 31 to June 20, 2027. The event’s official name will be the FiReMAJOR Buenos Aires 2027.
If it’s your first time hearing of FiReSPORTS, then it’s probably because their competitions have been held on a regional scale. The FiReMAJOR Buenos Aires will be their first time in charge of such a large-scale event with all of the world’s most passionate and skilled teams from the European, North American, and Asian regions.

Much like its predecessors, the FiReMAJOR in Buenos Aires next year aims to bring a whole new level of passion for Counter-Strike 2 to the Argentinian and South American demographics.
BESTIA is currently the world’s highest-ranked team with an Argentinian core at #40 on the Valve Rankings, Nicolás “Noktse” Dávila, Ignacio “nacho” Rodriguez, Tomas “tomaszin” Corna, and Nicolás “buda” Kramer leading the way. The second-best Argentinian team is ShindeN, a team whose five-man lineup is currently at #75 on Valve’s World Rankings.
More information, such as the prize pool, official venue, team information, and tournament format, is yet to be revealed.
