The latest stop in ESL’s Counter-Strike 2 calendar, IEM Atlanta 2026, concluded on May 17th. The competition featured 16 of the world’s best teams battling it out for the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and a first-place finish that counts towards the ESL Grand Slam VII tally.
It’s been two months since their last championship, but Counter-Strike powerhouse Natus Vincere has finally reached the top step of the podium once again. NAVI dominantly swept GamerLegion 3-0 in their best-of-five Grand Final to secure the Atlanta 2026 trophy.

The team’s AWPer Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov, was recognized as the tournament’s MVP after consistent play all throughout. The MVP medal is the first of his entire career, and the IEM Atlanta trophy is the second piece of hardware added to Natus Vincere’s trophy cabinet for the year.
Vitality is the best team in Counter-Strike at the moment, but even the strongest of lineups are beatable. They reached the playoffs of IEM Atlanta 2026 through a Group A Lower Bracket run and were matched up with Natus Vincere in the quarterfinals. On paper, history looked like it was going to repeat itself and Vitality would get the better of NAVI.

As it turned out, Natus Vincere was ready this time around. Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen further added to his legacy as the team’s in-game leader as NAVI reverse-swept the #1 team in the world, ending Vitality’s IEM Atlanta run way shorter than anyone expected.
The all-Brazilian squad of Legacy faced a BetBoom team led by former Natus Vincere shotcaller Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov in the third-place match, and it really wasn’t even close. Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto lived up to his team’s name and played his best match not only of IEM Atlanta 2026, but arguably of the whole year.

The 23-year-old was instrumental in Legacy’s complete annihilation of BetBoom over two maps, and when the time was up, latto had a K/D ratio you’d just need to see to believe. He racked up 41 kills and only 12 deaths across both Mirage and Nuke for a final series rating of 2.11.
