The best Counter-Strike 2 teams of 2026 are really self-explanatory once you take a gander at the world rankings, but how about the pro players that truly go above and beyond to deliver consistent performances and leave impacts way beyond the statistics and player ratings? With six whole months of CS2 tournaments out of the way, here are the best players in the whole world right now.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov – Team Falcons

Kicking off this list is a young star who just won the biggest tournament of his life, and it’s none other than Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov himself. One of the cornerstones of Team Falcons and their run towards the IEM Cologne Major 2026 trophy, m0NESY has been one of the best players in the game ever since his debut.

At only 21 years old, m0NESY just achieved what so many players missed out on in the past and so many more might not ever expect to reach: winning a Counter-Strike Major and being named the Major MVP.

His importance to Falcons doesn’t end at one tournament either, since throughout the last six months of competitive play, he’s had the third-highest player rating of anyone in the whole world at 1.25. For comparison, Falcons’ second-best player based on statistics is Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin who only has a 1.15 rating from HLTV.

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut – Vitality

The best player on the best team in the world, of course, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, makes the list. It would really be a crime not to, since barring an uncharacteristic collapse in the second half of the year, he’s one of the favorites to take home the top spot on HLTV’s year-end Top 20 rankings.

ZywOo’s contribution to Vitality’s sustained success this year absolutely cannot be understated. He’s one of the most important players in the whole world to any team, and if for some reason ZywOo were ever to stop playing for Vitality, that roster would have a massive gap to fill — and no one can truly replace him.

Danil “donk” Kryshkovets – Team Spirit

Now, if ZywOo left Vitality out of nowhere, they’d struggle to keep up the same amount of form massively, but still hold their own with the amount of talent spread across the lineup. If Danil “donk” Kryshkovets left Team Spirit without any warning, the entire organization may very well collapse.

When it comes to players that are considered valuable and untouchable, donk is at the very top of that list. The running joke of “donk go kill” as a strategy is, sometimes, not even a joke since he’s shown time and time again that there are a few things only he is capable of.

He currently has the highest rating of any player over the last six months, as determined by his stats on HLTV, which is really not a surprise to anybody who truly understands CS2 esports.
