Rust-building skins are content packs that add skinned building pieces to every type of piece of that specific material. So, in this case, the Legacy Wood building skin only skins wood building pieces and applies to any shape of building piece a player places. They can be used in any game mode, including official, community, and modded servers.

How Does the Legacy Wood Building Skin Work?

For players who want to use the Legacy Wood building skin, we have compiled a set of four easy-to-follow simple steps to help you along.

1. Purchase the Legacy Wood DLC

Head to the Rust item store, select the General tab from the top ribbon, and from there, purchase the Legacy Wood DLC for $12.99.

2. Load Into Rust

With the game open, connect to any server of your choice to begin using the skin. As stated before, it will work on any server, so if you prefer to play community or modded servers over official, feel free to join those as well.

3. Place a Twig Building

Start by placing the twig build that you would like to upgrade into Legacy Wood. It can be as simple as a single foundation, or it can be the entire base that you plan on building.

4. Use a Hammer to Upgrade

While using a hammer, right-click on the twig, hover over the upgrade to the wood option, press E on your keyboard to choose the Legacy Wood material, and then simply select the option upgrading the build to Legacy Wood.

Is the Legacy Wood Rust DLC Worth Purchasing?

The DLC doesn’t add any true content. However, it sure makes for a beautiful base. The usage you can get from building skins definitely varies from player to player, as well as how much you care about the looks of your base.

For players who enjoy adding a bit of style to their base, the $12.99 price tag can still be a bit steep, considering the content pack isn’t tradeable or marketable. However, it is clear that the art team behind this skin put a lot of effort into it, and if you do have the money to spare, you can definitely get your money’s worth out of this skin.
