Nearly all CSGO cases have doubled in price in last 30 days. This widespread growth has never been seen before and several suspect the growth will end very soon.
Growth in the Last 30 Days
- Shattered Web Case: $0.95 to $1.90
- Operation Hydra Case: $4.20 to $7.50
- Operation Vanguard Case: $0.35 to 0.50
For the last 30 days, almost all CSGO operation cases have doubled in price, and this is likely a result of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive reaching new player count records. We don’t think the cause of the increase was higher demand to open cases. Instead, it is a higher demand to invest in cases.
Understanding that the cause of the price increase is from skin investors rather than a shortage from cases being opened makes for a dangerous time to start investing. These cases could be dumped on the market at any time by these investors, which would be devastating for these cases that grew quickly in price.
The graph above shows the Shattered Web Case increasing around 200% within 20 days, recently spiking 30% upwards within 2 days. There is no telling whether the price will continue to rise or begin to fall, but sudden fast growth like we see above makes the price slightly more likely to fail than it is to rise.
Taking a look at the Operation Hydra Case lifetime price history, there are many points in which the value increases rapidly only to fall back soon after. You can also see how there has never been a price increase as quickly as we are currently experiencing.
Is there a good chance the cases that spiked upwards in price will crash? Given the Hydra Case history, it looks like the case prices are in a bubble that is growing unstable and ready to burst. Although, we could be completely wrong, and prices could continue to climb on.
